ESTADOS DEL YO
The price awarded Spanish choreographer Rafaela Carrasco has made a wonderful new flamenco piece for the dancers of Alma Flamenca Emilia Aho and Katja Lundén. The music for Estados del yo has been composed by Pablo Suárez and Juan Antonio Suárez "Cano", innovative young composers and musicians who already have gained their place at the top of the Spanish flamenco scene.
Estados del yo will be presented at Gloria theater during the Helsinki Flamenco Festival on 13th of February 2009 and at Kanneltalo theater (Helsinki) on 27th of March 2009.
Estados del yo has been presented in Monaco at the
Théâtre des Variétés on 9th of January 2009,
at Koko theater, Helsinki from 26th of November until 7th of December
2008 and in Jyväskylä on 28th of September 2008.

EDVARD MUNCH - THE DANCE OF LIFE
A unique flamenco play about Norwegian visual artist Edvard Munch. Directed and choreographed by Katja Lundén, the work tells Munch's life story through flamenco, describing his relationship with women and existential anxiety. The clash of the sexes is also represented by a role reversal: Lundén plays Munch herself, while Sampsa Peltonen is Munch's dream woman. Munch's paintings are projected on the background and further illustrated by the dancers. Actress Sara Paavolainen is the voice of Munch.
